Bandits
30 years and still going strong
On Sunday 31st May, the finals of both the
Cup and Plate competitions were played out
and both were thrilling matches to witness. Firstly the Plate competition, between Shepshed A and Bandits, was an exciting
match and although Shepshed were the strongest in the first half, the determination
and resolve demonstrated by Bandits ultimately resulted in a victory for them 46 goals to 28.
Hinckley Hurricanes
The Cup competition between TFC (winners of the LTNL premier division 2009) and Hinckley Hurricanes, was always scheduled to be a very competitive and close encounter, and we were not disappointed. Throughout the vast majority of the match there were no more than 5 goals separating these experienced and highly competitive teams, however an injury affected TFC were narrowly beaten by an ‘on-form’ Hurricanes with a score line at the final whistle of 41 goals to 39.

Sue Jones, LTNL Chairman commented “undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day was a friendly game, fondly named a ‘Senior Moment’, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the LTNL. 18 current and former LTNL players, all of whom had played in the league for at least 25 years, participated in a friendly game to mark this auspicious occasion. 5 of the 18 players actually participated in the inaugural season 30 years ago – WELL DONE to everyone who took part –
it was a fantastic day.”
